What is Impact SIX?
Impact SIX is a 6% chitosan solution formulation which delivers multiple modes of chitosan technology and efficacy to you in one uniquely-tailored product. Impact SIX boasts four major claims, nematicide, fungicide, bacteriocide and biostimulant.
Impact SIX provides effective control/ suppression of plant-parasitic nematodes in the soil and of listed soil and foliar fungal pathogens. Impact SIX works with plant natural defense systems and soil biology to deter insect feeding, laying, and establishment as well as combat diseases caused by plant viruses.
Impact SIX can be applied as a foliar spray, in furrow, irrigation to turf, fruit, vegetables, ornamentals, row crops, nut crops, seed treatment and residential uses. Refer to package insert for details.
The active chitosan ingredient in Impact SIX stimulates the plant’s ability to combat both biotic and abiotic stresses as well as contribute to the overall enhancement of plant health, productivity and stamina.
Start Reaping Your Benefits Today!
Nematicide
Impact SIX chitosan activates beneficial microbes that produce chitinases, which break down nematode eggs, pharynx, and cuticles, disrupting their life cycle. This leads to premature hatching, reduced viability, and feeding disruption. Additionally, these microbes enhance plant growth by competing with nematodes for resources and improving root health.
Fungicide
Impact SIX chitosan disrupts fungal growth by binding to cell surfaces, restricting nutrient uptake, and damaging the plasma membrane. It also interferes with genetic expression and protein synthesis, while increasing oxidative stress, which leads to cell death.
Bacteriocide
Impact SIX chitosan kills bacteria by binding to their cell walls, blocking nutrient uptake, and chelating essential metals. It penetrates the cell, damaging membranes and causing leakage, osmotic imbalance, and oxidative stress, leading to cell death. Its activity is strongest at low pH, though some bacteria can break down chitosan using chitinases.
Biostimulant
Impact SIX chitosan enhances plant growth and resilience by improving photosynthetic activity, boosting stress tolerance to drought, salinity, and temperature extremes, and activating defense mechanisms against pathogens. It also increases seed germination and seedling survival, promotes early flowering, and strengthens plant cell walls through the induction of callose and calcium signaling. Overall, Impact SIX helps optimize plant productivity and quality by improving both abiotic stress tolerance and disease resistance.
